About CaCl2 or Calcium chloride Reagent
Calcium chloride (CaCl₂) is an essential reagent in coagulation assays that evaluate the intrinsic and common pathways of the blood coagulation cascade.. During the coagulation test, blood plasma is first mixed with an activator and phospholipids to initiate clotting, but calcium ions CaCl₂ solution are deliberately omitted to prevent immediate coagulation. After a controlled incubation period, CaCl₂ is added to reintroduce calcium ions, which are essential cofactors for several clotting factors (including Factors II, VII, IX, and X).
Calcium chloride solution from Misaq Talashgaran is one of the few CaCl₂ solutions in the country that holds manufacturing license and an IRC (Iranian Registry Code).
